The short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, we do not sell your data, our analytics are cookieless, and our service is directed to adults and parents, not children.
TV Intelligentsia ("TVI," "we," "us") is operated by TV Intelligentsia, Inc., a Delaware corporation. We publish a public methodology that scores television and film for cognitive quality, with credentialed review for children's content. You can reach us at hello@tvintelligentsia.com.
TV Intelligentsia is directed to adults, including parents and caregivers who use our children's-content guidance ("TVI Kids"). It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. See Children's Privacy below.
Status note: the Tonight and Kids Tonight recommendation-outcome features described in this section are disclosed ahead of launch. TVI publishes privacy disclosures before collection begins; this collection is not yet active.
We collect only what we need:
Some features store information only in your browser. Your personal IQ tracker and your streaming selection are saved in your own browser's local storage, and you can export, import, or clear them at any time.
Our recommendation features are different, and we want to be plain about it. To improve what we suggest, some of what you do there is sent to us and stored, as described above. If you would rather we did not, you can use the site without the recommendation features. You can delete recommendation events connected to this browser using the control under Your choices and rights.
We also keep a first-party acquisition record in local storage for up to 90 days. It contains campaign labels, referring host, landing path, and timestamps, but no email, name, or child information. Your viewing decisions are handled separately and are described above. If you later subscribe or buy something, those labels may accompany that action so we can understand which TVI work led to it.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising networks or use cross-site advertising cookies.
When you use a watch-audit tool, the inputs you submit (such as show titles and an optional age range) are sanitized and sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, solely to generate the written narrative you receive. The score itself is computed in your browser. We do not use these inputs to build an advertising profile of you.
We share information only with the providers that help us operate, each acting on our behalf:
We use a cookieless analytics tool (Plausible) and do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Some features use your browser's local storage to remember your own data and first-party acquisition context on your device, as described above. You can clear that storage through your browser settings.
TV Intelligentsia, including TVI Kids, is directed to parents and caregivers, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. When our children's-content tools ask for information such as an age range, that information is provided by the adult about their household, not collected from a child. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@tvintelligentsia.com and we will delete it.
This removes Tonight and Kids Tonight history stored in this browser and asks our server to delete events connected to the recommendation-session identifiers this browser still holds.
We do not attach those events to your name or email. An email request by itself may therefore be insufficient to locate anonymous recommendation events after their session identifiers have been cleared from your browser.
We keep your email and related records until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Stripe retains payment records according to its own policies and applicable law. Tonight and Kids Tonight recommendation-outcome events are retained for no more than 24 months. Aggregate analytics contain no personal identifiers. Information you store locally in your browser stays on your device until you clear it.
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We operate from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
