The finding

PBS-associated titles are heavily overrepresented in TVI's two highest tiers.

32 of 44 titles, or 72.7%, reached Masterclass or Stimulating. In the remaining 181-title catalog cohort, 45.3% did. Current PBS KIDS titles also scored above the rest of the catalog on SEL.

This is a descriptive result from TVI's reviewed catalog. It does not prove PBS caused the scores, and it does not make every show interchangeable.

3.8xas likely to reach TVI's Masterclass tier as the rest of the reviewed kids catalog

The comparison

Mean and median remain together so one exceptional title cannot tell the whole story.

What the number can and cannot say

A useful data product needs the caveats beside the headline, not buried below it.

Complete cohort

All 44 identified PBS-associated titles are included.

The analysis does not select only the strongest PBS examples from TVI's catalog.

Producer truth

PBS is often the shelf, not the studio.

Fred Rogers Productions, GBH, WNET, and other organizations made many of these programs.

Boundary

This does not establish the best channel.

Cross-channel superlatives wait for complete network, platform, and producer metadata.

For families

Turn the report into a watch decision.

The parent guide ranks all 44 shows and gives faster routes by math, science, reading, feelings, history, and age. Its free Watch Map adds five questions that turn an episode into a conversation.
