The TVI Take
Hitchcock's 1954 Frederick Knott stage adaptation, originally released in 3-D. Ray Milland's Tony Wendice planning his wife's murder is the kind of single-location chamber-piece structure Hitchcock excelled at; Grace Kelly's Margot does the harder work as the wife who has to render terror at register the genre rarely affords its female leads.
The scissors sequence is a master-class in editing-as-tension-engine.
