The TVI Take
Bill Dubuque (Ozark, The Lincoln Lawyer) drops Peacock a nine-episode revenge-noir set in a saturated, neon Miami, with Shannon Gisela's Etta Tiger Jonze working her way through the men who killed her family. Cary Elwes plays the cartel principal she's hunting.
The cinematography is the closest a streamer has come to Miami Vice's color palette in two decades; the narrative is functional pulp that doesn't earn comparisons to Dubuque's previous work but won't get in the show's way for viewers who came for the mood.
