The TVI Take
Hayao Miyazaki's 2013 biographical film about Jiro Horikoshi, the aeronautical engineer who designed the Mitsubishi Zero fighter used in WWII. The structural commitment to letting engineering-design cognition (wind-tunnel testing, materials-research, aerodynamic-curvature work) be the actual subject is rare animated-biography work.
The film's willingness to render the moral architecture of weapons design without prosecutorial framing was its most-debated creative choice.
