The TVI Take
Taika Waititi's third Thor film whose structural achievement was reinventing a flagging franchise by treating it as comedy first, mythology second. The Hela-as-Asgardian-colonial-past subplot does work most superhero films evade: that the hero's home was always already imperial.
The Jeff Goldblum Grandmaster sequences and the work-shirts-of-the-galaxy color palette commit to a visual register that the genre had not previously attempted.
