The TVI Take
Sam Raimi drags the MCU toward his Evil Dead roots, and the dream-walking zombie Strange and the weaponized-music-notes duel are the film's genuine achievements, more distinctive direction than the 2016 original earned. But the script strands Elizabeth Olsen's grief-crazed Wanda in a heel turn that spends WandaVision for spectacle, and the multiverse stays a plot engine rather than an idea.
Competent blockbuster craft over thin writing.
