How we stay independent. Editorial scores are not for sale. TVI may take on paid advisory or research work, but no commercial relationship buys coverage, advance access to scores, favorable treatment, or a change to a published finding. The TVI Take
Catering-company comedy following aspiring Hollywood failures working gigs they cannot quite escape. Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally, and Ryan Hansen anchor a writing room (Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Dan Etheridge, Paul Rudd) that turned the half-hour format into character-study density.
Cancelled after two seasons in 2010. The 2023 Starz revival was good but did not recover the original's exact register. The half-hour comedy of working-class Hollywood failure has not been replicated since.
