How we stay independent. Editorial scores are not for sale. TVI may take on paid advisory or research work, but no commercial relationship buys coverage, advance access to scores, favorable treatment, or a change to a published finding. We pay for our own streaming subscriptions, and no reviewer sees sponsor data or affiliate revenue tied to a score. More about how we work →
The TVI Take
Ron Howard's salvage job after Lord and Miller's firing produces a competent heist prequel that never justifies its own existence. The Kessel Run set piece and Donald Glover's precise Lando are the high points; L3-37's droid-rights subplot gestures at ideas the script abandons.
Craftsmanlike and watchable, but the origin-story format drains the mystery from Han without adding thematic weight.
