How we stay independent. Editorial scores are not for sale. TVI may take on paid advisory or research work, but no commercial relationship buys coverage, advance access to scores, favorable treatment, or a change to a published finding. The TVI Take
James Gunn's DC reboot strands Kara Zor-El as a harder-edged survivor than her cousin, and Milly Alcock carries the grief-and-belonging arc the script otherwise leaves flat. The cosmic-revenge plot moves competently without asking the viewer to track much beyond it, and the production gloss outpaces the thin character work.
Critics split at 57 percent; audiences were warmer at 77, a gap that maps to a watchable blockbuster carried by one performance rather than by its ideas.
