Why you should trust this score
How we stay independent. Editorial scores are not for sale. TVI may take on paid advisory or research work, but no commercial relationship buys coverage, advance access to scores, favorable treatment, or a change to a published finding. We pay for our own streaming subscriptions, and no reviewer sees sponsor data or affiliate revenue tied to a score. More about how we work →
The TVI Take
Tim Miller's 2019 legacy sequel discards the intervening films to continue directly from Terminator 2, with James Cameron producing and Linda Hamilton returning as a hardened, grieving Sarah Connor. The border-highway chase and the mid-air cargo-plane fight are well-staged, and Mackenzie Davis grounds the augmented-soldier Grace, but the script recycles T2's protect-the-future structure so faithfully that little new thought is demanded.
Competent craft over a familiar premise.
