How we stay independent. Editorial scores are not for sale. TVI may take on paid advisory or research work, but no commercial relationship buys coverage, advance access to scores, favorable treatment, or a change to a published finding. We pay for our own streaming subscriptions, and no reviewer sees sponsor data or affiliate revenue tied to a score. More about how we work →
The TVI Take
McG's 2009 franchise reboot set in the post-Judgment-Day future war, with Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright, a death-row prisoner reborn as a Skynet hybrid. The single-take prison-escape opening and the helicopter-crash sequence show real staging craft, but the script strands Bale's Connor in monotone grimness and never develops its man-or-machine premise past a plot device.
