The TVI Take
Josh Cooley's origin film reframes Optimus Prime and Megatron as Orion Pax and D-16, cog-less workers whose friendship curdles into ideological war. The tragedy is structural: the Sea of Rust discovery of Sentinel Prime's betrayal radicalizes D-16 toward the vengeance that makes him Megatron, and the film earns that turn rather than asserting it.
Sharp animation and voice work above the franchise norm.
