The TVI Take
Jonathan Mostow's 2003 sequel inherits the franchise without Cameron's vision, staging competent set pieces (the crane-truck chase, the T-X played by Kristanna Loken) on weaker writing and thinner stakes. What redeems it is the ending: Judgment Day is not prevented but arrives, the nuclear detonation subverting the "no fate but what we make" thesis the earlier films sold.
Schwarzenegger's aging Terminator anchors an otherwise diminished return.
