The TVI Take
David Yates directs the trilogy to a muddled close, its Grindelwald-election plot straining to carry the mythology Rowling front-loaded. Mads Mikkelsen steadies the recast villain and the production design of the Bhutan sequences is genuinely handsome, but the qilin subplot and thinned narrative give the mind little to hold.
Competent craft attached to a story that forgot its own stakes.
