The TVI Take
Luc Besson pours his Fifth Element imagination into a lavish adaptation of the Christin-Mezieres comic, and the opening Big Market sequence, where thieves reach through dimensions, is a genuine visual invention. But the worldbuilding outpaces the writing: Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne share no chemistry, the plot resolves through exposition, and spectacle never becomes story.
Craft-rich, dramatically hollow.
