The TVI Take
Jonathan Frakes directs the ninth Trek feature like an extended TNG two-parter: a forced-relocation ethics premise, the Ba'ku, the Son'a, and a planet's regenerative rings, that never rises above debate-club depth. F.
Murray Abraham's Ru'afo is a thin villain, and Jerry Goldsmith's score does the emotional lifting the script declines to. Comfortable, small-stakes, forgettable.
